I have this issue but :
The Host Windows Vista Ultimate.
The VM Windows XP SP2
In the host the usb hard drive works fine but the vm can´t see the usb drive. Help!

This worked, thanks! Istill having another problem though. Even after I shut down the guest and unplug + replug the device, windows no longer detects it. I tried removing it from the list of usb filters in vbox but that makes no difference. Any suggestions?
